Database Entry[]
Remnants of humanity transformed by a thick layer of Dust into a garden of new nature. Caution is advised during exploration, it is unknown what new species may be encountered here.
Access[]
The Underdust Suburb location can only be accessed by riding a lift down to the surface. Currently, the only lift available is from the Overgrown Surface Lift location variant.
Oxygen[]
The entire area outside of the lift is considered toxic, and you need an oxygen tank to survive. If you run out of oxygen in this area, you will die. Players have a Small Oxygen Tank by default, and can later upgrade to a Medium Oxygen Tank for a longer possible duration of safe exploration.
Oxygen cannot regenerate by itself. Your means of refilling are the following:
- Returning to the lift. This area is considered a safe zone.
- Consuming a Breathnut which can be found within the area, albeit uncommonly.
- Using an Oxygen Refill Station, which requires a Crystal Battery to power, but can be used infinitely after you have done so.
Structure[]
This is not meant to tell you how to fully navigate or 100% the Underdust Suburbs, but instead to give you a general idea of what can be found here.
Lift[]
This is your starting zone after descending to the surface. Inside you can find Old Storage Boxes, an Organic Printer, and the lift controls. Neither the boxes nor the printer can be picked up, but they can be scanned and used.
Activating the lift controls will take you back to the Lift tower.
Underdust Suburbs[]
This area consists of quite a few locations: A dense forest, a highway, a container-filled courtyard, an alleyway with a crashed airship, and a dead-end with some story related Flora and Fauna. Many locations require an Aircutter to access, of which you can gain the blueprint for by scanning some Hardened Creepers.
In the Crashed Airship, you can find a Wrecked Pipe Water Generator, and the Container Courtyard has a Wrecked Large Water Tank and a Wrecked Large Oxygen Tank in various containers (one of which is only accessible by jumping down from the highway above).
You can find a few Oxygen Refill Stations around the map, but you may need to return to the Elevator or grab a Breathnut to keep your oxygen topped off. Beware of the numerous Crustpedes and Thorn Bees hanging in the forest!
In the dead-end with the Mantises and Sleeping Lily Flowers, you will find the continuation of the Story.
